"The Power of Community" is a mentoring programme that offers students of Lodz University of Technology the opportunity to develop under the supervision of experienced mentors - university graduates. The entire mentoring process has specific stages and is tailored to the needs of students so that they can fully benefit from their participation. Here's what the programme looks like:
- Application and selection
Recruitment of students (Mentees) to the Programme will be a two-stage process.
The first stage will consist of filling in an application form, which will allow the Organizers to preliminarily assess the motivation of the candidates and their readiness to participate in the Programme.
In the second stage, candidates shortlisted after the initial selection will be invited for short interviews conducted online via MS Teams platform.
Student application forms will be evaluated by a Committee consisting of 3 employees of the Careers Office of Lodz University of Technology.
Based on the evaluations of the application forms and interviews, there will be a final Mentee ranking list, which will be announced in accordance with the Schedule. -
Creating mentoring pairs
After the recruitment process is completed, the programme organiser – TUL’s Careers Office – matches mentees with mentors, taking into account both their preferences and declared areas of support. Although mentees may indicate preferred mentors, the final selection of pairs is at the discretion of the organizer, who strives to create optimal conditions for each pair. -
First meeting and establishing the rules of cooperation
The programme begins with an initial meeting during which the mentor and mentee define goals, expectations and rules of cooperation. Meetings can be held both online and in person – depending on the preferences of both parties. -
Regular meetings and mentoring sessions
During the programme, each pair completes a minimum of six hours of mentoring sessions. Their schedule, frequency and form are determined by the mentor and mentee, adapting them to individual needs and possibilities. Regular meetings are a time to discuss challenges, implement development plans and search for solutions under the supervision of an experienced mentor. -
Evaluation and completion of the programm
After completing the mentoring process, participants are invited to participate in an evaluation to share their feedback on the programme and assess its impact on personal and professional development. Thanks to this, the "Strength of Community" Mentoring Programme is becoming better and better, responding to the needs of subsequent generations of students.
The "Strength of Community" mentoring programme is being implemented in the academic year 2025/2026, and its organization and support is carried out through the Careers Office of Lodz University of Technology.
This is a chance to establish valuable relationships, develop competences and gain support that will help you enter the job market with confidence!
We encourage you to read the detailed Programme Regulations.
