Scientist and manager with extensive experience. Graduate of Lodz University of Technology, PhD (2008) and habilitation (2017). Since 2009 professionally linked to CIOP-PIB, where she leads the Hand and Foot Protection Laboratory. Her scientific work combines basic and applied research, focusing on the development of innovative protective materials used in personal protective equipment (PPE). She cooperates with manufacturers and technically supervises an accredited laboratory for gloves and protective footwear testing.
Emilia Irzmańska, PhD, DSc is author and co-author of 20 patents and patent applications, 100 presentations at national and international conferences, and 150 peer-reviewed scientific publications. She has led over 40 scientific projects, including those funded by National Centre for Research and Development (NCBiR) and the National Science Centre (NCN), with scientific metrics showing significant researcher impact: h-index ≈ 17, 400 citations, and over 200 article peer reviews.
She participates in the European co-ordination of Notified Bodies Vertical Group 5 - Protective Clothing, Hand and Arm Protection, and Vertical Group 10 - Foot and Leg Protection, representing Poland in EC working groups on hand and foot protection tests. She lectures at the CIOP-PIB Educational Center on workplace safety and protection, at the University of Łódź Faculty of Chemistry on chemical safety and management, and at the State Labour Inspectorate in Łódź.
Actively supports young researchers at Lodz University of Technology, Warsaw University of Technology, and University of Łódź as supervisor and co-supervisor of over 10 theses, mentor for over 40 internships, and scientific advisor for 3 research internships, including habilitation ones.
Recipient of CIOP-PIB Director’s award for best lecturer in postgraduate studies in occupational safety and health. Honored in 2025 with the “FRIEND OF THE FACULTY” statuette by the Faculty of Materials Engineering of Warsaw University of Technology for cooperation in materials engineering and contribution to faculty development and academic standing.
